The first part of the evening will feature the 75-member Allouez Village Band directed by Paul Oleksy, associate director.
Following intermission the Allouez Village Jazz Band will take the stage, led by guest director Ken Peterson, trombonist with the Allouez Village Band, director of the De Pere City Band, trombonist and leader of the River City Six and trombonist with Talk of the Town.
The vocalist for the evening is a returning favorite, Erin O’Connell Patchak. Her performance credits include KIDS From Wisconsin, Fab Fifties Live, Green Bay Community Theater, Broadwaymania, the former SC Grand Dinner Theater and the Allouez Village Band. A graduate of St. Norbert College, she currently teaches in the Howard-Suamico School District. Sometimes dubbed the “singing history teacher” by her students, outside of her social studies classroom at Bay View Middle School she directs and choreographs the musical, show choir and the annual Bay View Idol Competition.
During the first half of the show Patchak will accompany the full Allouez Village Band doing vocals for “Stardust” by Hoagy Carmichael.
The Allouez Village Band will also perform Duke Ellington’s “Caravan” and “In the Miller Mood,” featuring some of Glenn Miller’s biggest hits including “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “I’ve Got a Girl in Kalamazoo,” “Serenade in Blue,” “Little Brown Jug” and “At Last.” The full band will also perform Leonard Bernstein’s “The Wrong Note Rag” from the Broadway musical “Wonderful Town.”
Patchak will sing three selections with the Allouez Village Jazz Band, Duke Ellington’s “Do Nothin’ Till You Hear From Me,” Richard Rodgers “My Funny Valentine” and “As Long As I’m Singing” by Bobby Darin.
The Allouez Village Jazz Band will also perform “Cotton Tail,” “Big Noise from Winnetka,” “Take Five” and “Bye Bye Love.”
